ah, yes. and in the perfect cap to the day, I just found Yuri playing with a smallish (1.5–2", perhaps 3" with its tail fully stretched out) scorpion. inside the house. crawling fairly swiftly toward my boots.

I dislike this. so far there hasn’t been anything larger than spiders in the house, and nothing more dangerous than black widows (which tend to hide in places we don’t often go, anyway).

Boy am I glad I'm Canadian. Evil nasties like that don't like it up north, the worst we see is a daddy long-legs and the occasional centipede.

And ants. Lots and lots of generic black ants.

I've never even seen a scorpion (or cockroach) in my entire life. At least, not in person.

Lucky, lucky you. Spiders and scorpions and ants and roaches and the occasional vinegarone; of which the first two are frequently (lethally) venomous, and the latter three are not. Also mice and lizards. All save the vinegarone have been seen in this house in the last two weeks.

There are also coyotes and snakes around here, but I’ve never seen either in the house. ^_~

We've got even LESS of a selection down here in Nova Scotia, where it's too cold for even most breeds of mosquitoes to live aside from the most humid, balmy days of mid-August... after which they swiftly die off.
...but, the fucking MICE... lol

That's like us and ants. Some people in different regions are like, "Oooooh nooo, ANTS" but we just brush them off of our counters with our hands and make breakfast. x_x
