how wonderful. now my computer won't even boot.

ah. apparently one of the outgoing security programs altered the registry such that Windows was half-convinced that my user profile utilized the directories of the SYSTEM profile. bastards. probably should have straightened that out before I started the three-hour(!), non-optional pre-install scan. oh well.

I've a growing suspicion that I may have fucked up. decided to install a new anti virus suite (Bitdefender vice AVG) and things have gone... strange.

currently my desktop is black behind the installer, DWM isn't running nor functional, and half my startup programs are missing. I also get an error every time I open Windows Explorer regarding C:\Windows\system32\config\systemprofile\Desktop being unavailable.

I'm having serious second thoughts about the wisdom of this course of action, but of course it's far too late now.

Reminence group 1 is so much more casual than group 2 manages to be. I suppose that happens when your group is stable enough to be a collection of friends rather than an assortment of occasionally-intersecting interests. managed to collect 5 more pieces of heroic gear. starting to gather BiS gear for my DPS off-spec. thinking about going back to main DPS for MoP. 3 1/2 years may have been enough main tanking. Emacs ate my combat log before I could upload it to World of Logs. had to turn Recount off, so I have no idea how my DPS was.

there is something very wrong with the idea of half the parking for a medical office complex being reserved for staff. more staff, apparently, than they even have.

and, except for the (very few) handicapped spaces, it's the nearer half. all the spaces actually at the buildings, for example.

you'd think they'd route the freight on track 2, especially given that it was accelerating through the station.
