oh. no wonder my arm hurt so much after she adjusted the needle. I have two little pockets of blood about 8 mm apart on the inside of my left elbow, in addition to the scab from the needle puncture. so I think she pulled it out of the vein instead of replacing it in the vein, or she pushed it through the vein. this ain't real reassuring.

I've given over a gallon myself. I however, have deep veins and they never get it right the first time -- not even the head nurse. Usually it takes about two our three times before it finally flows.

Once it even took 6 times, three for each arm, four nurses hanging over me...

My mom has that problem. Unfortunately, I got these "nice," large, shallow veins from my father. Most of the veins in both arms are standing out right now, even the ones where the color of it isn't visible through the skin. It's a pain.
