Sep. 6th, 2003 10:28 pmdamn. today was a good day, and a bad day.
the first hint of this was at the blood bank. the guy that checked me out, made sure my blood pressure and iron level and comprehension was up to snuff was really cute, in an older guy-kinda way. the phlebotomist was a cute blonde, early twenties maybe, slightly upturned nose, sprinkling of freckles, pretty voice... and I passed out when they had barely half a pint of blood.
and I even fucking ate this time!
my blood pressure was 143 over 80-odd, my iron level was high enough that the droplet sank right to the bottom of the jar of copper sulfate, and I felt fine. midway through my pint, I noticed the needle was starting to really sting, then my face started feeling flush, and the next thing I know I'm waking up from a pretty decent dream because there's like 5 people rushing around my seat and they're pulling the needle out of my arm - which is probably what woke me up - and shoving cold packs up my shirt and a cup of water in my face. granted, I got more attention from a cute guy and girl, but that's not the way I want to get it!
anyway, after another half hour or so and a ton of fluids, they finally decide that I can leave. a few minutes of walking in the sun and my fingernails weren't blue anymore, which is somethign I kept trying to tell them. but no, they had to keep me in there and all the while my fingernails are getting more and more blue and less red, and I'm getting colder, and they won't let me move. but, they know better than me, despite the fact that I've lived in this body for just under nineteen years. meh.
so, we finally get out of there, and I convince my uncle that I can actually handle going to the movies still. I mean, it's not exactly an intensive activity, right? anyway, we came back, picked up my brother, and took off for Ontario. made it with just enough time to get tickets and snacks before the movie started. like, walked in, sat down, divvied up the popcorn, and it started.

on the way out my brother started working on my uncle, trying to convince him to take us to GameWorks and give us some money. after a few minutes he gave in, gave us $10 each and we went over. the machine wouldn't take our tens, so we went to the desk and found out that they don't accept tens. wonderful. anyway, we got some fivers and those worked, so we split up and looked for games. I played Silent Scope and Crisis Zone; nice, mindless games both.
after that I went downstairs and dug in to wait for a chance at DDR. a couple of girls cut in ahead of me, but one of them was eminently worth watching: cute, nice moves, about my age, and tiny. like five foot or shorter. too bad she couldn't play worth a damn. she got just enough steps to keep from getting a game over, most of the time, but she did look good doing it.
what, I can't admire a girl bouncing around having fun?
anyway, I got up there (following that girl and a couple of guys ahead of her who were doing high difficulty and doubles, so I was feeling a bit inadequate) and got started with Brilliant2U. I didn't do so good, but I made it through the next two tracks with an A or B. Dynamite Rave was not a good choice after that, however: I ended up walking off in the middle because I couldn't keep up. oh well.
my brother having informed me they had an Initial D machine now, I went looking for it and found him. unfortunately I left my card at home, so I had to start a new one; got back in mah groove after the first lap though, so it was okay. made it through two races and ran out of cash, so I went looking for my uncle and brother.
my brother was playing DDR, so I dragged my uncle off to play air hockey. the tables they have there are weird: two paddles (uh, whatever the hell they're called) per player, up to three pucks at a time... it was weird. I won, barely. 9 to 8.
my brother was done by then, so we took off. hit a gas station on the way back for drinks; my cup broke as I was putting the lid on, naturally. after they dug more out of the back room and I had my drink, we took off up the back way. we ended up on an old part of Route 66, which paralleled the freeway almost to Cajon Pass, then we got on the freway and came home normally.
busy day, and there were some good points. on the other hand, I really wouldn't want to repeat it.
and my right ring finger still hurts from the blood sample the guy took to check my iron. that's never happened before. and thus ends today's verbal (textual?) diarrhea. bedtime for Hyuri.

awesome action movie. I didn't much care for the
plotscenes, but the freeway chase/fight scenes - aw, man those were good. unfortunately, all that fluid they forced into me at the blood bank caught up with me during the scene with that guy who had the Key Maker... uh, the first scene with Persephone. must have been amusing for the people in the lobby to see the kid with long hair and baggy pants bouncing, hustling across to the restroom and then running flat out back to the theater.
