my father has been running Win2k for a couple of years now, because "it's so much more secure." problem is, he's been running it as an administrator for a couple of years now. so now he's got a virus in his winnt folder, and his much vaunted Panda Antivirus can't clean it. but does he look for another solution, like TrendMicro's HouseCall or Norton AntiVirus' Emergency Disks?

nope! the only aceptable solution is to format his drive and start over; it's his solution to every computer problem under the sun, so you can imagine he does it a lot. and he wonders why I scoff at his problem-free computer: because he never tries to fix the problem!

oh, and I really need to stop falling asleep with my hair still tied back. it's a bitch to get the tangles out when I wake up.

Sounds like my brother...effective, but annoying. I personally prefer a reformat every six months or so. I really haven't kept it up, my current windows install is about a year in running, and should be redone.

I should probably do that, but I don't. I think my last reinstall was around 6 months ago, but that was just so I could kludge together a pseudo-restore of the previous installation. which was over 2 years old. so it's just been getting flakier and flakier, but I can still run ZSNES, RO, and Mozilla, so it's good enough for me.

and even when it won't, I still have Gentoo on another drive, so I still have ZSNES and Mozilla.
