if you're ever called up for jury service, I have 3 pieces of advice:

1. take reading material good for several hours; possibly a laptop or something. no music or anything that would interfere with your hearing the court workers addressing the jury pool.
2. take $20 or so for lunch, snacks, drinks, etc.. not all courts feed their jurors.
3. get some sleep the night before. it is boring as hell waiting there.

panel B (mine) showed up on day 2 of jury selection, and I'm not sure we'll be done with that stage by the 24th, let alone the trial itself as the judge hoped. more than that, I think it safer not to say.

oh, except that I did end up in Barstow anyway. seems that everyone summoned to Victorville was either redirected or rescheduled.

also: $1.539 for regular! I went for Circle K at $1.579 instead of Thrifty though.
