okay, so last Monday I visited an Army recruiter. he was extraordinarily disappointed to learn that, while I'd scored a 99 AFQT, the result was more than 2 years old and therefore invalid. my assurance that I could virtually guarantee at least a 95 in the future made him almost disturbingly gleeful. I think that there may be some truth to certain rumors regarding the average Army recruit.
anyways, yeah, lot of waivers. at last count I need a morals waiver (possibly two) for my fraudulent enlistment ELS and numerous traffic tickets; some kind of waiver to counter my reentry code; a possible psych waiver for the reason for my fraudulent enlistment ELS; a medical waiver for my vision; a (theoretically pro forma) waiver due to my possession of a GED rather than a traditional diploma; and a possible medical waiver due to my teeth. despite that daunting list, he (and his SNCOIC) were remarkably (and disturbingly?) enthusiastic regarding my odds of successful enlistment.
it's kinda funny, most people have so much trouble with push-ups but I have the most trouble with sit-ups and crunches. once I start doing them regularly (even once a week) I have no trouble getting up to knocking out 100+ push-ups in under 2 minutes, but I have trouble getting past about 40 sit-ups. I don't get it. push-ups use the abdominal muscles too!
