damn, I need new brakes

hyuriI never did get around to explaining a couple of weeks ago, did I? uh, oops?
anyway, what happened was I went to Pick and Pull with somebody to pull a transmission. spent 4 friggin’ hours dropping one out of a Vandura, then went looking for stuff for my car. oh, and we spent an hour or so hunting down a small block distributor and fan that weren’t totally trashed. anyway, I spent a couple more hours trying to find an ex‐Turbo ZX that I’d seen a few days earlier because I wanted to grab, well, everything.
I didn’t realize it was gone until after I recovered somewhat from the dehydration, which used up another hour or so. then I went looking for the Z32 that I’d also seen from which I wanted the seats. no go, also gone.
wound up with a pair of seats out of an 86 300ZX. a pair of really, really dirty seats. I shampooed them and the passenger seat is still crunchy. the driver’s seat cleaned up fairly well though, so I installed that and as of today I have a working semi‐power seat. with 3 separate lumbar cushions and a thigh cushion—and the air still works! doesn’t slide all the way back, but the rails are longer anyway.
my car has a seriously bastardized interior at this point, and it’s only going to get worse. every new part is a different color, half of them came from a different model....
oh, and apparently the maintenance shop at the distribution center is hiring for trailer maintenance. and looking for referrals rather than transfers. I’m supposed to talk to the shop manager on Monday; we’ll see how that goes.
