May. 9th, 2007 12:04 amback from SanD, and I did indeed get the gearbox. nice, firm feel on the shifter, little bit of fucked‐uppedness in the bell from the starter losing a tooth which is cosmetic and not exactly noticeable anyway. sitting all shiny and prettyful in the driveway behind the car right now; I’m going to try and stuff it in tomorrow. he even threw in the flywheel and pressure plate, gratis! granted, the ring gear needs some filing, and they both need to be resurfaced, but that’s just tedium in my future.
and even after gas (about $73) and dinner (McJunk), it still cost less than getting it locally would have. less than $600 into the car, and all I seem to be lacking is perhaps some fasteners. maybe.
