National POW / MIA Recognition Day
Sep. 17th, 2005 11:50 pmI spent Friday down in Riverside, much of it at Riverside National Cemetery, for the dedication1 of the National POW / MIA Memorial.
I saw too many things there to mention them all, nor do them justice. I’m still fighting tears, thinking about it.
1. There was a 21‐gun salute, seven volleys by three 105 mm howitzers, not 21 rifle volleys as the article states. The only rifles in sight were chromed, non‐functional models in the hands of the color guard.
