something is eating up the free space on C: until I have exactly 23,990,272 bytes free. consistently. repeatedly. swiftly. I killed about 500 MB worth of files, and it was full again in a couple of minutes.

this is not a good sign, I think.

That's a virus. I don't remember which, though.
Of course, it's also windows-native, so if you're using Linux..

Haven’t used Linux since the middle of April (http://www.livejournal.com/users/hyuri/200344.html). Very interesting, though, that I killed all the programs in the system tray—excuse me, “notification area”—preparatory to a full scan, and all that space instantly reappeared. I’m thinking something wasn’t releasing things like it should, or something like that.
