thanks to a razor blade, a pair of dikes, and a few feet of electrical tape, my speakers work again. after removing some 20 feet of cable, collectively, from the 3 affected speakers.

and while digging around under my desk, I discovered that he’s been chewing on my keyboard cord, several power cords, and something which I’ve forgotten what’s on the end of. thankfully, he hasn’t gotten through any of them. yet.

Quick tip from someone who had the same trouble.
get a length of garden hose, cut it open in a spiral, and wrap around your cable. your cat should not be able to chew through that.
