I find myself very glad I have that new drive. and wondering just how “well” my system will run the damned game...

It does work on my system on medium quality at 1024x768 (with all of the advanced options turned off), with the occasional split second of slowdown. More with fog. For comparison, that’s:

• Gigabyte 7N400 Pro2 (revision 1) (PATA RAID and SATA disabled)
• Athlon XP 2600+
• 2x256 MB generic DDR333 sticks running 333 MHz @ 5‑3‑3
• GeCube Radeon 9600SE with 128 MB (two displays)

Incidentally, that game makes Silent Hill and Resident Evil look about as scary as wet kittens. It is seriously freak‑some; I can’t play for more than 20 or 30 minutes at a time or I start jumping at everything.

And according to TaskMan, it uses about 350 MB of RAM when it first loads. That game is a bloody pig.
