I did actually tell my mom, like I said I was going to. her response? “That’s what I thought.”

ever think of saying something? demonstrating in some way—any way!—that my well‑being is at all important to you? or even a point of interest?

I got more interest from passing strangers when I walked to the store earlier than I get from my family. I have never been so close to just saying “fuck it” as I was when I realized that.

you know what I want more than anything—anything—in the world? a hug, from someone who just felt like giving me a hug. not a perfunctory hug because it’s expected; not a hug to humor the depressed shit kid. just a hug from someone who cares.

Actually, it's only 93 today. It was about 104 the other day. That's like death for me.

I visited Seattle once. Cool place, although I didn't see much of it. The drive from Portland up was so beautiful.

When I told my Dad for the first time (my mom passed away years before), he behaved in much the same way. Nothing. Nothing at all for almost two years until it got to the point where he could no longer ignore it.

I found out later that he simply didn't know what to do, let alone about what to say. It just rendered him speechless. And for quite some time I thought that he simply didn't care. But he did talk, he did worry, he just didn't let me see it.
