hyuriwent to a barbecue to celebrate my cousin's graduation yesterday. dunno what I was thinking; I like being around people, but I hate being in crowds. there was a crowd. and no nice, quiet corners to hide in. but my faith in the caring of blood was redeemed, because nobody noticed.
anyway, after about an hour or so my grandmother decided she wanted to leave, right as they finished cooking. and made us leave without eating, turned down offers of plates to take... (I did get to try Travis' bacon-wrapped jalapeno poppers, though.)
and a mile or so down the road, before we even got near the freeway, she said to stop somewhere for dinner. the hell? so we poked around and found a Thai place, which was pretty damned good. whatever the dish was with shrimp in it, though, it was not "slightly" spicy!
my uncle and I traded off driving on the way home, and I finally figured out that my driving style makes him nervous. which was muchly amusing. he kept telling me to slow down, keep it below 75, blah blah blah, and making all kinds of bullshit excuses for why. none of which I noticed when we traded seats.
so we got back to their place, popped in The Matrix Revolutions, and kicked back for... however long that was. then we crashed after watching a bit of Daddy and Them, which I really didn't much care for. and I cursed the fact that I left my hoodie at home, because that room was frickin' freezing. of course, the fact that my room rarely drops below 80° after mid-Spring might have something to do with that perception. kept waking up shivering. -_-
finally gave up around 1000, after laying there for a coupel of hours trying to decide if I was going to be able to sleep more. waited for my uncle to get up, showed him how to print things from Word, and came home, um, couple of hours ago? nobody's here. and I'm hungry.
