I'm suddenly minded of something my cousin used to say, when play-acting his T4C character (usually armed with a mace or a big honkin' hammer): *miming hammer-strike* "PEACE! muthafucka!"

I've been awake too long, I've consumed more caffeine in the last 6 hours than the preceeding 3 weeks, I still have a ton of adrenaline running through my system, and I'm way wired. so it's funny to me, 'kay?

oh, and I finally caught up at GP and can consider posting again.

was catching up on Amy C.'s blog, and her entry for the 16^th reminded me that I was probably overdue to clean my ears out. so I did. and what I pulled out... well, let's just say that I know why my hearing's been a bit off lately.

I'm definitely keeping a box of Q-tips in my desk when I move.

why does everyone insist on adding -v to the tar command line? in every computer on which I've untarred files, adding verbose output has greatly increased runtime. we're talking 200-300% on some large files. if you really want to know where everything goes, try a dry run using -t instead of -x!

oh well. suppose I should file that with the READMEs/HOWTOs/"tutorials" that don't explain what the specified options do.

damn. my back hurting seems much less surprising now. I finally decided to have my mom take a look and I have this huge red mark streaking across my back. I think I hit an end table on my way to the floor yesterday.
