bloody desk...

pulled my keyboard tray out; normal thing to do. it got stuck. this is also normal. so I grabbes the edge between my thumb and index finger, yanked -- and my thumb slipped as the tray came out and the nail snapped waaay the hell back, over the nailbed, and now I have to file it down so I don't reach up and tear a hole next time my chin itches.

oh yeah, and since I yanked the NIC my dad left in my grandparents' computer and brought it home, I now have everything I need to put together a dedicated Linux box and get it on the network so I can play with Linux without rebooting my main system!

except that it's an old Pentium-class system (MII PR233, actually), so it requires an AT keyboard. which I don't have. and Wal-Mart doesn't have any PS/2->AT adapters. and I don't feel like going all the way to Best Buy just for a little thing like that. oh well.
