thinking about blowing away my Linux partitions and moving my mp3s into that space. or maybe checking out this "BeOS" thing... ^_~

I need to get a job so I can buy more hard drives so I don't need to make decisions like this. ^_^

The problem with BeOS, is that the community largly draopped off two years ago. That was around BeOS R5. The only commercial release available today would be YellowTab's Zeta. I haven't tried it myself, it wouldn't run on my hardware anyways...

Why won't Zeta run on your hardware? Seems like a good thing to find out before I burn a disc, eh? ^_^

BeOS was always picky with hardware. Particularly video cards. I have an SiS 630, not great, but the best I've actually had.

What I was implying about the Community factor: BeOS, like linux, SkyOS, and all other alt OSs need an active community to develop new applications. Anything that doesn't have a unix base in particular, needs an active community, since you get a lot of apps with just kernel support.

Hey, it has gcc, Mozilla (http://www.bezilla.org) and bochs. I don't really need anything else. ^_^ It'd be mostly a toy OS for me anyway.

Noooo, I'm thinking about dabbling in it. So far all I've done is download it. ^^

Then again, I have yet to try OS/2, and I have that on disc already...
