Mar. 29th, 2004 08:06 amI wa bored, so I decided to do something I've been meaning to do for quite a while: type up a list of my Magic cards. well, I got it started, anyway. needs to be formatted, get the quantities, and add the cards I have in a box, but I got the hardest part done.
anybody play? care for a peek? give me a guess-timate of the value? I packed 'em up in, and have pretty much ignored them, since '96, so I got no idea if they're worth anything. ^^;;;

Date: 2004-03-29 05:14 pm (UTC)Judging from what I see, it's pretty impressive. However, may I offer a word of advice? When making a sale, you could pretty much disregard what expansion commons are from, particularly those that are being made to this day, basic land being a case in point. ^^ That being said, you really want to sum up groups of cards by color, and mentioning the highlights, such as rares, uncommons, and out of print commons. ^_^
An excellent source to consult is Essential Magic There, you can find out the rarities of various cards, as well as compare prices that they go for on average. However, one thing I must advise is that when selling a collection in bulk, people tend to get a mass such as what you have for as cheaply as possible, particularly in the case of eBay. That being said, I'd get an accurate count of all the cards you have, and maybe ask for a starting price of anywhere from 5-10 cents per card.
When you list 'em, be sure to really emphasize your highlights! ^_^ A few that caught my eye include:
Birds of Paradise - rare
Hymn to Tourach - common, but out of print
Spirit of the Night - rare, and OOP
Lightning Bolt - common, OOP
It's best to really know what you have. ^_^ I wish you the best of luck, however you sell them, should you choose to. ^_^ And, I definetely would like to hear how you did, as well. ^^ Also, card condition is important! ^.^ Be sure to specify if it's like new, or has any signs of wear, particulary on your highlights.
