I'm cold, and I'm sick, and my right ass cheek is sore. but my computer is fast and stable and lovable. I was going to play Phantasy Star IV, but I forgot about that whole thing with DOS programs and Windows XP. and I loathe GENS.

my hands are swollen. I've lost track of the days. my routine is fragmenting. I need to stop and get my ass in bed before I do something more regrettable than usual.

GENS at least has the decency to force your computer into a compatible resolution. Most resolution-constrained emulators (Kega, ZSNES, etc.) make you switch over manually.

Though it'd be better if resolution-constrained emulators were nonexistant.

Windows XP problems

You should try to run that dos program in windows 95 mode. Just right click it and go to properties and click run in compality mode with win 95. Dude you sound like a cool kid but i LOVE i mean LOVE Micrsoft's Windows XP, it is the super OS of the south dude! So good luck and if it doesnt work you can make your computer dual bootable to win xp and dos dude. Windows XP Rocks my world!

Yes, I... actually tried that. In fact, I tried every compatibility mode.

No. Dice.

And I do like XP; I just dislike GENS. Actually, I dislike most Windows console emulators, especially the ones that force or require a color depth/resolution change. I've just been forced to switch, gradually, because nobody seems to be developing non-Windows or non-SDL X emulators for x86 anymore. Well, except for ZSNES, but that doesn't work either.

Hell, if I felt like it, I have a computer all but ready to use. All I'm missing is a keyboard and about 70 feet of CAT5. But I'm a lazy shit. And cheap. ^_^ I could probably do it with 10 feet, but then I'd have to run it through my main computer, and that could get ugly.
