My hair is so much easier to manage when it's wet. Once it dries out it gets all 'full bodied' and then I can't do anything but let it sit there all natural and wavy-like. Annoys the hell out of me. I like to actually do stuff with my hair instead of just let it look good on its own.
My hair's much more manageable a day or two after I wash it—once I've slept on it, basically. It's kinda wild, but overall pretty well-behaved. At least, it stays out of my mouth most of the time. ^_^ Takes about two, three hours to dry, though. -_-
As far as doing something with it, I generally just brush it out and braid it; sometimes I pin the brain up with a clip when I've trapped it against my chair a time too many. Very rarely, I twist it up into a bun.
frequent blowdrying causes damage, which turns you into a whiner like in all those conditioner commercials. Newsflash: If you don't damage your hair, you won't have to repair the damage!
Well yeah, but so does putting any stress on your hair while it's wet (like, uh, styling it). I do everything short of beating my hair to a pulp, and when I do get a split end or something, the whole hair falls out. And this is after a rather harsh (and ineffectual) bleach job last year.
But then, my body tends to the disgustingly healthy anyway, completely disregarding the way I treat it. Why should my hair be any different?
See! There ya go. Go nuts with it! Style it, dry it, beat it till it bleeds, and use product like it's going outta style! It'll stay (mostly) healthy regardless, right? Besides... there's still my threat of Rogaine-ing the crap out of your head in your sleep. ^_-
