I've discovered one very, very irritating thing about Fluxbox (and, looking back, X11 in general): you can move maximized windows. which is kinda fucked up, since maximizing is supposed to use all available screen space, and if you've done that, why would you want to move it? and if you do, you should un-maximize it first.

awwww, fuck! emerge didn't remove 2.6.0-test5, it just extracted it next door. and didn't change the target of the /usr/src/linux-beta link. so I just wasted an hour recompiling the same kernel I'm running. dammit!

True; should have said Xll window managers. And since being able to move windows in any state is a classic behavior of such managers, I'm not sure Flox will ever get patched to change it. Oh well.
