hyuriI'm really beginning to hate Gentoo, despite loving it so. it's pretty cool that everything is compiled for my system config, but the fact that that means I have to compile it for my system config is driving me batshit. I spent 6 hours this morning updating shit: emerge sync, get told portage is out of date; emerge portage; emerge -C File-Spec && emerge File-Spec (after I finally figured out that's what was blocking other emerges); and starting emerge --update system. after which I went back to bed for, um... 9 hours? wow.
so I get up around 1520, figure out what parts of world need to be updated, run emerge --update libxslt fvwm qt sun-jdk, and sit around with my thumb up. it's still working on qt.
I'm not happy.
on the other hand, certain things have developed which please me. they also tell me I need to see a doctor ASAP. which'll probably end up being next year sometime.
I'm also out of soda. I even drank my last can of DP, which I was avoiding 'cause it has caffeine. so I need to convince my mom to go to the store with me or give me money and let me drive myself.
I need to get my license.
