so my father ended up in the ER again. another grand mal.

I wish he'd learn that going cold-turkey from a BAC of 0.3-something is a bad idea. he's home already though, so I'm not holding my breath.

Holy crap... your father is incredibly lucky that you can string "another" and "grand mal" together in the same sentence, and still be able to say he's home and alive. Jeezus.

Yeah, well. The first one happened a few years back at the Exchange at MCAS Cherry Point; I think he had 1 or 2 more in the ambulance shortly thereafter. This latest happened at his desk, while I was unsuccessfully (and luckily) attempting to fall asleep for about the sixth straight hour.

So, ambulance ride, a few hours in the ER, and then home again with a prescription for chlordiazepoxide. Not so much as medical emergencies go.

I dunno, hon... they call 'em "Grand Mal" for a reason. I still say that hadda be pretty fierce, and that he's, as you say, damn lucky you were awake.

Serious shit they've got him on, btw. Wow. o_o;;
Let's hope it does him good.
