Sep. 27th, 2006 12:11 amlesson of the week: the universe doesn’t want me to be happy.
I just lost all my bookmarks for the second time in a week. well, not all of them. I managed to find a backup from two years ago.
and I discovered that not only did my car have a full charge of refrigerant—R-12, even!—the compressor and even the clutch work. then I pulled the passenger side dash apart to get under the kick panel: the fuse is fine. okay, so by this point I’m getting kind of pissed off, because the next step is tracing the circuit to find out what else is in there that could go bad.
turns out there’s a relay under the hood. said relay is bad. we’ve been doing without air conditioning for four years for want of a fifteen dollar, plug‐in part.
so I swapped it with the horn relay. I never use the horn anyway.
