hyuriwhen operating a power tool of a type you’ve never before used, caution is the order of the day.
my father has forgotten this.
he managed to break the head off a professional drain auger by just being his usual, obstinate self: pause what you’re doing and see if it’s actually moving? maybe back it out and see why it isn’t advancing? hell no! just keep it torquing against whatever it might be wedged against until I finally make him understand that it isn’t going further in!
seriously, I had to demonstrate this to him with it still running. how the fuck did I wind up having a brain, with this family?
anyway, now we have a large auger bit clogging the bloody pipes. we have to call a plumber. and the auger is trash.
also, the woman I talked to about the GED lied, so now I have to wait until next month to take it. skipping class on the second.
