I would like to make an offer. however, for liability reasons, I would need to make an inquiry first. unfortunately, the only way I can think to write said inquiry sounds roughly like a longer and more formal, “I want to know if you’ll be okay with something that most people find illegal or at the very least immoral, even though I’m not going to do anything illegal. Really, I’m not!”

yeah, that’s real believable. even when it happens to be true. -_-

also, my brother apparently managed to drink enough to black out recently (no memory, rather than unconsciousness). not a good sign for a fellow who once claimed that he’d never be able to make himself drink seriously. also not a good sign for someone who expresses hopes of a military career.

Um, not to be contrary hun, but... if a guy DOESN'T ever pass out drunk or whatever, he's probably not fit to be in the military in the first place. XD LOL

No, but see, he was still conscious. He just doesn’t remember anything! And apparently he was doing crazy shit that he would never do, normally—which, incidentally, amused the hell out of his classmates/drinking buddies.

I dunno, I guess I’ve just seen too many of the problems that drinking like that can cause. And as suggestible as he can be, well....

I’m a worry‐wart, okay? And he’s one of the few blood relatives I actually care about. So... yeah.

My brother was like that for a while, he drank almost constantly for almost 9 months. We were all worried about him because he never drank before this and now it was like he didn't drink anything else. Then he abruptly stopped.

Still, it scared the hell out of me.

The part of the story that I didn’t recieve at the time is rather heartening: apparently it scared the shit out of him, as well. Reassuring, that.

That's good. I think something like that happened to my brother, but we've never talked about it.
