eye update

hyurithe good doctors at UCLA have adjudged my eyes inappropriate for laser refractive surgery, being that they have a high refractive error and very large pupils. also, being that I am a dumbass, I didn’t think to ask for copies of the exam results until after I had slept.
any way you cut it, though, my eyes were too shitty for aviation. greater than ten diopters of myopia, and a minimal fraction of astigmatism in each eye. so I’m looking at some other surgeons to consult, but that may get the same answer.
anyway, if the surgery thing doesn’t pan out, I’m just going to get a few more credits and enlist. all the non‑aviation jobs I wanted are enlisted fields, anyway.
I’m thinking about shooting for Corpsman and requesting FMF. either that or simply bypassing the Navy entirely.
