finally caved and bought a PS->PC controller adapter. and bid on a metal DDR pad. I'm reeeeeeally hoping this adapter maps properly (d-pad as buttons instead of x-y axes (which it should 'cause it's a DirectPad Pro-type LPT adapter, but...)); but even if it doesn't I should be able to plug a regular PS pad in and play some platformers better.

in other news, for some reason I've been listening to a lot of Sneaker Pimps lately. probably 'cause it's all right after Boys on my playlist, but...
