hyuri’m tired. didn’t actually log any unconsciousness, but I got a bit of light dozing in in the car while waiting for my grandparents to get home and unlock the doors. lemme tell ya: trying to nap in the driver’s seat of a small sedan? no fun. worse than the front passenger seat, even.
on the way out there, I was getting ready to pass a guy hauling a tractor—signal on, halfway into the opposing lane—when I caught something dark in my peripheral vision. I move right, look left, and see some jackass passing me, and less than six inches away from my door. then on the way home we got passed by some jackass in his jacked‑up pickup with his brights on who wasn’t paying any attention to the fact that he was passing on a solid, or even a double, yellow.
but he was signaling his passes. that just makes it all better, doesn’t it, asshole?
happens every time I drive back from there in the dark. every. single. time. and it’s the same type of vehicle every time. not the same vehicle—the last one was red, and even bigger—but still.
before we left, I managed to slam my right index finger into the car door frame. I mean, the door actually latched solidly enough to make the stupid dingy‑sound thing shut up. this was not a crush‑’n‑bounce: I had a spot on my finger that was flattened damn near to the bone (not cut), and absolutely no feeling in it. I can feel it now, and it works normally, but it’s pretty swollen and fairly sore.
we were supposed to get some stuff from K‑Mart on the way home, but that kinda got dropped by the wayside. and now it’s too late, and they’re closed. oh well; SEP.
and I buzzed my hair this time. my scalp is all stubbly. it’s an unusual feeling, and I don’t think I like it—too cold, for one thing. but I’m pretty sure I can get used to it. need to pick up a beany somewhere, though.
why am I not tired?
