so yesterday I went out to play chauffeur to my mom and her mom while they looked for more stuff to cram in my brother’s “care package.”

first place we hit was an oriental market (of course), and I know where I’m buying my Pocky from now on. two‑packs of Chocolate or Strawberry for 99¢ and four‑packs of Almond Crush for $3.99. all the grocery stores have is the two‑packs of Chocolate and single‑packs of Strawberry, for 2–3 times the price. I really like the Almond Cursh, too.

then we got lunch, and by that I mean they got lunch and I got a small soda for the sugar, because the thought of food was making me seriously sick. and the whole time they were eating they kept trying to get me to eat something, and suggesting places and foods, and I’m just thinking “what part of ‘the thought of food makes me sick’ don’t you get? you’re lucky I’m not puking on the fucking table.”

(my Pocky was melted, so I threw it in the freezer. each packet is now a solid mass of chocolate, almond, and biscuit.)

so we went to another oriental market after that; they didn’t have much of anything, so we went to the mall. got some books to send to my brother, my mom got a deck of Tarot cards and a book on Tarot, and I got The Star Scroll, which I’ve been forgetting to pick up a copy of for almost four years.

then we went over to Sears so they could look at appliances. we looked at refrigerators, ’cause Nana offered to put one on her credit card for us after seeing how much their new one affected their electric bill. so we’ll be going back tomorrow to buy one, I think. they were going to get a rice cooker, but nobody ever showed up to, y’know, help us find one with a box? even after we had the only employee we could find, the cashier, page for someone to help us.

then we kinda wandered over so they could look at clothes, and they picked up some stuff for one of the podlings. then my mom wanted to know where I would get pants in there, so I led her over to Boys (iss ’cause I’m small), where she conned Nana into loaning her some cash to buy me some pants.

we took Nana home in the late afternoon when the sun really glares. spent a while there, with me tipped back on the couch holding myself on the edge of consciousness. she made some pickled ginger, so I tried that—damn, that shit’s strong! ish good, too. ^__^

then my mom decided it was time to go home, before I tipped over the edge and passed out, so we left. and, of course, soon as we get out onto the paved road and I hit 60, I get thirsty and take a drink. and choke on it, which throws everything out of whack and I inhale some of it.

so we’re doing about 63 at this point, I can’t breathe, I’m trying (not very succesfully) to hold down a massive coughing fit to clear everything... I’m not sure how, exactly, but I manage to come to a stop with hitting anything and still on my side of the road (no shoulder on that road, for some reason). clear my throat, make sure I can breathe again, take another, more careful drink, and continue.

hit the store on the way home because my mom wanted to pick up a bottle of brandy for my dad. -_- grabbed a new tin of Tangerine Sours, and decided to try a flavored lip balm this time. I certainly like the smell of it, at least; though it seems to be working pretty well.

I told my mom we had more pickled ginger when I saw she only put one jar in the box, but she said that’s all she could find. when we got home, I dug up three more—still sealed—in a couple of minutes, and my dad says there’s more out in the shed.

warm Gatorade tastes like ass, you know that?

watched most of Blazing Saddles because I felt too tired to get up and move, then dragged myself to bed. forgot to take a drink, so I woke up dehydrated and way fuzzy because of that. and my eyes are still kinda dry and scratchy.
