Oct. 1st, 2012 01:16 amdownside to multiple LCD displays: colors not quite matching. even when they're the same model, built around the same hardware, from the same batch. one has a distinctly cooler tone to it -- naturally the one with less backlight bleed.
on the other hand 3840x1080 is pretty damn sweet. as is RainMeter, which I only picked up because my previous desktop clock (Presto's Sidebar Clock) started doing really fucked up things to sidebar.exe for no apparent reason. remembering a thread on my guild's forum, I checked out RainMeter and, with the addition of the Enigma skin/suite, discovered it does almost everything that I want in always-displayed apps with a tiny footprint.
it does not, however, do Twitter feeds, Winamp playlist display, or show the array of hardware info that Open Hardware Monitor does. for those I use <a href="http://blueonionsoftware.com/tweetz.aspx"tweetz, Winamp itself, and OHM with some very small images (551 bytes total) to match with my wallpaper. still need some sort of Twitter feed that's transparent. or at least flat black....
