May. 31st, 2005 02:32 amokay, so... San Diego.
spent quite a while roaming around downtown looking for the Thai place we ate at last time (or any Thai place, really), but finally ended up in a mall eating Panda Express. gwad that was shit. after that we headed back to MCRD to dump the car, then roamed towards a trolley stop to head to a mall with an arcade.
along the way, we came across what a couple of me brudda’s friends from BMP have decided is the local cathouse. I have a nagging feeling that they may be correct.
at the arcade, I encountered DrumMania and Dance Maniax. I ♥ those games. ^_^
of course, just as my brother was getting into the swing of DrumMania, he got called by somebody who told him he had to be ready to work receiving for a new group of recruits. in three minutes.
so we hauled ass back to base—took slightly over thirty minutes—only to find out that there was no receiving, no new recruits, nothing. which my brother knew, because nobody receives recruits on holidays. and on top of that, it was an open week: no recruit arrivals scheduled.
of course, the arcade was given up as a bust by this point, so the guy who verified this for my brother invited us along—he was meeting some other guys at a place called Fumari.
y’know, a hookah would be an awesome thing for before bed. really. The double apple was good, but the blueberry was kinda... crap. it had a heavier, smokier taste.
anyway, between the shitty lunch, the root beer I had first, the two hot chocolates that followed, and a lot of hits offa da hookah, my stomach finally rebelled in the parking garage.
strangely, once I ejected the entire contents of my stomach, I felt better than ever. ¬_¬
and then I raced like hell to get the guys back to base, where we arrived about two minutes before formation and seven minutes before curfew. very lucky for them.
then I came home, unwound, and typed this up over the course of the last two hours. I’m gonna get some sleep now....
