for some reason the idea of a Parasite Eve/Buffy the Vampire Slayer crossover 'fic has been rattling around in my head since I woke up. more Parasite Eve 2 than the first game or the movie, though, since that's the only one I've played or watched. however, in my search for such a 'fic, I ran into Strike Fiss's Higher Learning again, and got to reading it. my first encounter was with Lesson 43, I think, when I was trying to follow rec.arts.anime.creative. I thought it looked pretty good, but I was still working on Undocumented Features, among other things, so I shelved it and forgot about it. oops. it's certainly less cringe-inducing than Neon Epoch Evangelion, which I notice has a sequel in the works. cool!

one of these days I need to sit my ass down and do that whole "sit down and just write, no matter how bad it is," thing. 'cause, y'know, I get all these ideas and dreams and shit that just feel right, but I can't for the life of me get them down in a proper readable form with my current skills. it doesn't help that I'm somewhat - okay, very - demanding about my personal production. which is largely why I don't code very well: as hard as I am on other people, I'm a hundred times worse on myself. and I never stop.

I've once more noticed that my LJ is the first result for a Google search for "hyuri;" I'm not sure I like that.

pet peeve: people writing about military (or pseudo-military) stuff with alpha-numeric designations, using "beta" instead of "bravo."

I dunno, it just bugs me. kinda like seeing "K-Bar," or something similar for, say, a Ka-Bar Fighting/Utility Knife. or misusing Zulu and Lima time. but especially the phonetic alphabet bit.
