well finally!

I'm posting this from Linux. Gentoo. in X. using Links. still using the default window manager, though (mwm? twm?), 'cause I haven't had the time to build KDE yet. working on getting DRI working on my Radeon now, but it's kinda bogging down on the CVS download. oh well.

doing parallel builds of pfeifer-sources and development-sources right now, to remove the old DRI code from the kernels. once I get this stuff done (and hopefully working), I'm going to drag up Windows and play some games -- and music! I still haven't installed any MP3 players here. need to pull XMMS, Mozilla and Mplayer so I can get some real "work" done.

it works!

got LogJam up and running; pulled the Mozilla source; got XMMS working. time to build the DRI stuff; then put together the config files for Mozilla and build it; then put all the files in place, reboot, and cross my fingers and hope it works.
