hm. apparently I'm getting a new motherboard for Christmas, contingent on my doing my chores. I have to buy the processor myself, and nobody's said anything about RAM, but it's still a step forward.

Hey, just a new motherbard can make a big difference performance wise...
but that only works if you can ttransplant your processor and memory
