I don't get it. I like the appearance of, and would like to be able to wear, certain articles of Victorian and earlier dress (high on my wish list is a proper cloak). this doesn't mean I know where to get those items, especially cheap!

You might also want to check Theater Costumes, sometimes a theater will sell theirs because they don't have the room to stock all their costumes. These are usually really sturdy as they have to survive a lot of practice, shows and cleaning!
