... the hell?

hyuriI've found myself saying that an awful lot this past week. first it was because my computer was eating itself. then it was the computer not wanting to work when I put it back together. then it was the car. then it was... actually, I think all of it was the computer, other that one with the car. ¬_¬

lj_win32 client, which is acting very strangely: I open it, it logs on, it disappears, I hit alt-space and click Restore, it shows back up -- on the login window. other than hitting alt-space immediately, before clicking anywhere, and ctrl-alt-delete, it's completely inaccessible. this is the same client I was using before everything went boom, the same one I started an entry in this afternoon. I even reinstalled it, twice, and nothing changed. what the hell? O_o
sorry for running out on you, Tess; it seems the problem was actually a conflict between the Voodoo3 and my sound card, and it decided to bite me. ditched the extra video card and BOOM! no more problem. oops.
note for next time: get it stable, back it up, then start playing.
