Oct. 15th, 2003 08:18 pmI suppose it says something about my priorities that the very first thing I did, after installing drivers and getting my system Stable *knocks on wood* -- before even getting my Windows profile crap off my mom's computer -- was install Mozilla and start this post.
somehow, I don't think what that might say about me is actually good. but, whatever. I have a (reasonably) stable computer, Mozilla, and in a few hours hopefully my music back. that's what I really missed about having my computer down.
oh, and for anyone who's interested: apparently it was all because I had both drives on the primary IDE channel set to auto-detect, which set the master at UDMA 5 and the slave at UDMA 4. swapped 'em both to manual, UDMA 4; no problems since.
and now to start transferring my 70 gigs (!) of crap over the network. joy. ¬_¬
but my driving privileges were apparently raised to "solo-capable," so now I can go to Scandia and stomp on their new DDR Extreme when I have cash. assuming they haven't banned me for resetting the damned thing last time I was there...
