hyuripaternal parent was on a roll today.
I got up, he told me to go outside and help clear out some plants from the backyard; okay. I get out there, clip 6 fair sized oleander to the roots in about 20 minutes alone, and he tells us to dig a trench along the row to prepare for pulling them out tomorrow. he comes back out when we're running some water in the trench to soften the ground (this is something he does normally), so I ask him to shut the water off 'cause he's in that area; naturally this sets him off because there isn't nearly enough water in the trench (meaning we won't need a bucket to sling mud out). so he goes inside and starts yelling to my mom how I was shouting "shut it off; shut it off!" at him (I asked him "could you turn the water off, please?" [even though yelling anything at him is suicidal, which I am not]).
so we got the trench dug but haven't dug out around the plants yet, and it's getting too dark to see out there, so we filled it up to soften overnight and came inside; good enough, right?
wrong. the mess ended with him telling me he was never going to ask me to do anything around the house anymore (he never asked me before either; he gives orders) and giving me an ultimatum that "unless you start studying I won't be spending any money for you," and I'm sitting there wondering what the hell I'm supposed to study for, since I don't have any classes this semester and he has my only textbook for next semester; after which he pulled the plug on the house router, bitching at my mom for a while, and passed out like you're supposed to when you're that drunk. except that he'd stopped drinking several hours before and he was still that drunk.
and I can't even disagree with him because the last time I tried to when he was this pissed he tried to throw me out. my father is not the poster child for stability.
